Atkins diet allows different high protein fish and seafood to be included in your daily meals. Another benefit of the atkins diet is that protein intakes should be much higher than what other nutritionists say is enough. Some say that 1/2 a gram of protein per pound of body weight is enough. For a successful weight loss with Atkins diet, it is recommended to take minimum of 6 ounces of (weighed uncooked) protein at each meal. *Oysters and mussels are higher in carbs so limit to about 4 ounces per day.
